Student Housing

The role of Student Housing is to offer students at the University of Iceland convenient, well-located housing to rent at a fair price. The dwellings are of varied sizes and types: rooms and apartments for individuals, apartments for two persons or couples, and two, three and four-room family apartments. The residential buildings include Gamli Garður, Skerjagarður, Hjónagarðar, Vetrargarður, Skuggagardar and the Ásgarðar quarter; all of this housing has access to the University computer network. There are three preschools on the premises: two preschools operated by Icelandic Student Services and one by Reykjavík Preschools (www.leikskolar.is). There is also a 10-11 grocery store (www.10-11.is) in the Ásgarðar quarter, at Eggertsgata 24. About 1,200 people now live in Student Housing; the agency's office is in Háskólatorg, Sæmundargötu 4, 101 Reykjavík, Tel. 5 700 800, fax 5 700 709. For more information consult the website: www.studentagardar.is.
