ISS Student Project Grant
Ten scholarships for students at The University of Iceland.
On December 1st. FS will award grants to ten students to work on final projects. Five grants will be awarded to undergraduate students, one in each academic school, and five grants to master's students regardless of academic field.
The application deadline for grants expires on Thursday, November 4th, at 16. Applications are submitted to Rebekka Sigurðardóttir at the FS office in Háskólatorg, Sæmundargötu 4, 101 R.
Each grant is in the form of 150.000 kr. credit at the University Bookstore.
Conditions that applicants must meet are:
· Those who apply for their BS, BA or B.Ed. projects must have completed at least 2 / 3 of the program.
· Those who apply for their master project must have completed at least half of the program.
· Applicants must be registered to graduate in February, June or October 2011.
The purpose of the grants is:
· To create opportunity for students to work on major research projects.
· To support outstanding students with their final projects.
· To assist students to access books in their field.
The application:
1. Application, maximum three pages total.
? Application must include: students name, instructors name, the student’s academic school and department, and the name of the final project.
? Statement of the projects purpose, methodology, research- and time plan.
? Information on other grants or salaries received for the project.
2. Other material:
? Confirmation from the University registration office that the applicant is registered for graduation in 2011.
? The students transcript from the registration office.
? References from the projects supervisor stating:
· The students name.
· A confirmation that the student plans to graduate in 2011 according to the registration office records.
· Information on the student's ability to solve the project. The projects supervisor sends his statement directly to FS by e-mail, rebekka@fs.is.
